Recently, a friend encountered a problem: accidentally broke the faucet inside the wall while changing it, and there was no water left. I tried several methods, but none of them worked. Finally, I managed to fix it.
This kind of thing is quite common, and many people must have experienced it. So how should we handle this situation? The repairman has taught a few relatively simple methods, and now I will share them with everyone
1、 Why did the faucet break inside the wall?
Generally speaking, there are two main reasons why a faucet may break inside a wall: first, the quality of the faucet is poor, and second, improper force is used during disassembly
1. The quality of the faucet is poor
The quality of the faucet itself is not good, and when installed too tightly, it is very easy to break when disassembled later. It is recommended that everyone purchase faucets from a legitimate building materials market, and when installing them, they should be installed just right without leakage
2. Excessive force during disassembly
The main reason for the faucet breaking inside the wall is still due to excessive disassembly force. When disassembling, you can add a little liquid to the screw thread and wait for a while before disassembling.
2、 What should I do if the faucet breaks inside the wall?
The reason why the faucet will break inside the wall has already been mentioned above. Next, I will tell you a few simple and effective methods, which you can refer to.
1. First, use a saw blade to cut the faucet section that is broken in the wall into three or four slots, then use a screwdriver to knock it out, and it's okay.
But one thing to remind everyone is to be careful not to damage the threads inside the water pipe when using a saw. When I was sawing, I made a groove on the top, bottom, left, and right sides, which slightly damaged the silk pattern on the left. It doesn't matter much if I wrap it with PTFE tape.
2. Buying a hacksaw blade for less than 1 yuan, evenly dividing it into four pieces, sawing out four lines, and then using a screwdriver and hammer to knock out the inside, it takes less than 20 minutes to complete.
3. Go to a hardware store and buy a tool called a "thread extractor". Insert it into the broken thread and turn it counterclockwise. Apply equal force to remove the broken screw.
4. The commonly used screwdriver and pliers at home can be inserted into the broken thread and turned counterclockwise with equal force to remove the broken screw.
The above are some simple methods, and I would like to remind everyone that the faucet is turned on counterclockwise and off clockwise, regardless of whether it is placed upside down or horizontally.
